Content Notes
Notes on sensitive content and sensory stimuli
Why these hints?
Opera is an art form of extremes: passion, violence, ecstasy, death – the great themes of human existence are condensed on stage, often with overwhelming sensuality. It is precisely this power that makes opera so fascinating as a genre! But it also means that some scenes can be stressful for some people.
Why should you read them?
The following notes on content-related and sensory stimuli are not intended to be “warnings“ in the traditional sense, but rather a way of consciously preparing for the stage experience. They offer guidance for people who prefer to avoid certain content or would like to prepare themselves for it – whether for personal experience, health reasons or simply out of a desire to make an informed decision. Those who stumble into a scene unprepared can be overwhelmed by it – those who expect it can face it with open minds. Below you will find specific information on the sensory and content-related attractions of individual works in this season.
