Something About Love
An evening full of color, courage, and creativity – curated by our young talents: Bastian Schmidt and Rosa Wielandt (FSJ Kultur), and Jacob Altrock (annual intern), presenting their final projects.
7 pm Emotion_X – Queer Stories in an Audiovisual Installation
Who are we, and who do we want to be? How can young* queers survive – and thrive – in a world that’s growing increasingly radicalized? Bastian Schmidt (FSJ Kultur) poses essential questions about future and community to his peers. The answers are as diverse as the people themselves: a vibrant mosaic of stories, dreams, and visions, inviting us to reflect and imagine. At the heart of it all: connection over monologue, relationships over single viewpoints. This space allows thoughts and feelings to grow, to be shared, and to evolve.
8 pm Pin-Up-Doll – Music Performance
Baritone Jacob Altrock explores the boundaries of devotion, self-surrender, and identity. In this emotionally charged recital, he blends classical works by Schubert, Schönberg, and Ravel with contemporary and pop music – a powerful confrontation with longing, conformity, and the loss of self, hovering between beauty and pain. Note: The final 15 minutes of the performance contain a depiction of self-harm. A verbal cue will be given, allowing audience members to leave the room if they wish.
9 pm Soup Session – Creative Workshop: Art, Craft & Music
The evening winds down with color, form, and sound: in this hands-on workshop, you're invited to paint, craft, and create – accompanied by the live sounds of Rosa Wielandt (FSJ Kultur). The upper JOiN foyer transforms into a creative lab where ideas bubble, materials flow, and art comes alive. Experiment, connect, and let mellow Bossa Nova vibes inspire your imagination.
